Calling All Workers

One of the most important reasons why I feel as if the fast food industry is such a benefit to the world is the fact that it creates many jobs for people. As many of us know, the economy is not doing so well at the moment and jobs are getting harder and harder to find. Luckily for us the fast food industry has employed millions of people and will continue to employ people. These jobs, together with other low-skill positions in retail, provide a kind of safety net for workers with few other options. Jobs that require people to work at fast food restaurants are very abundant, which helps people who are in need of jobs. From experience I know that working at fast food restaurants is not the most interesting or the most well payed jobs, but at least it is a job. It is even predicted that the fast food industry will continue to be a significant job creator. The Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks food preparation as one of the top four fastest growing occupations, and that trend is expected to continue at least through 2018. Without the fast food industry millions of people would be out of jobs, which in turn would cause the unemployment rate to increase dramatically. Lets be thankful that fast food is here to stay.
